About Centaur
Centaur was founded in 2000 by Keith Sobey, Chairman, and Andrew Cork, Finance Director, formerly Senior Managers for the Audit Commission in London.
In the 10 years since its launch, the company has gone from strength to strength, delivering healthy and consistent returns and is now the largest and most profitable company within the sector it champions.
From offices in the City of London and NE England, the Company serves clients worldwide. Through it's growing subscription and support services, it is spearheading the development of its education services via the Centaur Sports Trading Academy.
Centaur currently operate the largest Sport Investment Fund in Europe with average client
funds of £5 million in 2009. Withthe opening of our office in the city of London in September
2009 and the launch of Galileo in July 2010. we expect to strengthen our position at the
head of a rapidly emerging global market.
The Centaur Academy is the first of a series of education products which Centaur hope
to roll out out over the next two years aimed at making our brand the acknowledged
World leader for training and gaming education.
We have put in place a strong board of directors to deliver the ambitious programme
including a talented and experienced non executive director team.

Executive Directors
Keith Sobey
Executive Chairman
Keith is a founding director of the Centaur Group. A qualified CIPFA accountant he worked for 30 years at a senior level in public finance before taking early retirement and founding Centaur in 2000.
Tony Woodhams
Managing Director
Tony joined Centaur in august 2009. He formerly ran his own entertainments business and has a wealth of experience in corporate sales and marketing.
Andrew Cork
Finance Director
Andrew is also a founding director of Centaur and has been it's Finance Director since 2001. Like Keith Andrew worked for the Audit Commission as an Audit Manager between 1989 and 2000
Tony Hargraves
Academy Director
An Australian, Tony moved to the UK 2 years ago to fulfil a desire to become a successful sports trader. Not only did he achieve this but he developed a succesful sports trading business, Badger. Tony is rolling his business into Centaur this year and he will play a key role in the development of our education services.
Paul Hole
IT Director
Paul has run a successful IT consultancy business for 2 years having previously worked for Goldman Sachs.
Non Executive Directors
Geoffrey Cowley
Geoffrey is currently CEO of several mining companies and previously worked as an international consultant for the UK Governmant. He played a major part in the privatisation of British Rail and was recently made a Freeman of the City of London.
Frank Roseman
Frank is chairman of a major hedge fund and has 30 years city experience as a major shareholder in a number of sales and marketing and property businesses.
Ian Craig
Ian has been a senior executive with Bank of America for the last 10 years. Formerly the bank IT Director based in the USA he has now returned to the UK and heads European Credit Card operations.
Ian has been a Centaur client for 7 years and is well positioned to view Board matters from a client perspective.
